Your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals at school: (February 6, 2017) – Did you know your children may qualify for free or reduced price meals at school through the National School Lunch Program, which is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day? A Message from the Superintendent: How a Snow Day Decision is Made: (December 16, 2016) - Yesterday, a few folks called in and inquired as to how I make a decision regarding a snow day. Lady Wolves and National Honor Society Host Make-A-Wish Night, Bottle and Can Drive: (December 12, 2016) – On Tuesday, December 13, Union Springs’ National Honor Society and girls basketball teams are partnering for Make-A-Wish Night at their games against Southern Cayuga. The goal for the night is to raise awareness and money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central NY. Surplus Equipment Up for Bid in the Union Springs School District: (December 7, 2016) – The Union Springs Central School District is getting rid of surplus education equipment and supplies in order to prepare for the 2017-2018 transition school year during which fifth grade will move up to the middle school and fourth grade will move to Cayuga Elementary while renovations at A.J. Union Springs' Homecoming and Spirit Week is September 26 through October 1: (September 22, 2015) – Union Springs Central School District will be holding homecoming and school spirit activities the week of September 26 – October 1. There are many events and activities planned throughout the week starting with themed dress-up days. Annual Grand Friends Day at A.J. Smith Elementary Was a Hit: (September 21, 2016) – A.J. Smith Elementary School held its annual Grand Friends Day on Thursday, September 15 th to help kick start the school year. Congratulations to the Women’s Chorale on an outstanding performance at the NYSSMA solo festival:   (May 19, 2016) - Congratulations to our High School Women’s Chorale on repeating history by earning a score of 27/28 = OUTSTANDING on Level 6 Barbershop Song St eppin’ Out With My Baby .  This is the eighth time this ensemble has achieved this rating on Level 6 repertoire! School budget passes, a message from Superintendent Jarett Powers: (May 17, 2016) - Thank you for your support as we navigated another successful budget season.  The budget passed with 306 “YES” votes and 47 “NO” votes.
