Information packets and nominating petitions available for Board of Education candidates on March 2

Union Springs Central School District residents interested in seeking a seat on the Board of Education may pick up information packets and nominating petitions from the District Clerk, at the District Office, Middle/High School, 239 Cayuga Street, Union Springs, NY, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning March 2, 2018.

Three (3) seats on the Board of Education are to be filled at the Annual Budget Vote and School Board Election to be held on May 15, 2018.
(*Board members whose terms expire on June 30, 2018 are: Carol Quill, Jeffrey Culver and Tom Weaver, Sr.).

Board of Education members must meet the following qualifications:
1. Able to read and write;
2. A citizen of the United States;
3. Eighteen (18) years of age;
4. A legal resident of the state and of the central school district for at least one (1) year preceding the election.

Nominating petitions must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the district and must be filed in the office of the District Clerk, no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 16, 2018. Candidates will draw for position on the ballot April 17, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at the District Office Conference Room.
