The Union Springs Central School District proudly announces the exceptional achievements of its Winter Varsity and Junior Varsity (JV) sports teams in bowling, basketball, and track. The district takes immense pride in recognizing the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship exhibited by its student-athletes throughout the season.

The Winter Varsity and JV Sports Awards ceremony, held on March 6, provided an opportunity to honor the outstanding performances of the athletes and celebrate their contributions to the spirit of sportsmanship within the Union Springs community.

Union Springs Athletic Coordinator Todd Salls began the evening by listing off several immense highlights from the 2023-2024 winter season:

• Girls Bowling player Jenna Jump and Varsity Girls Basketball player Lilly Casler were named ESPN 2023-24 Fueling Excellence Athletes of the Week.
• Varsity Boys Basketball player Collin Park became the fourth-ever boy in school history to reach the 1,000-point club.
• Every varsity team received scholar-athlete recognition.
• The Varsity Girls Basketball team and both the Girls and Boys JV Basketball teams won the Cayuga County Holiday Basketball Tournament.
• Both Girls and Boys Varsity Bowling teams won the IAC Bowling division and tournament championships.
• Girls Bowling player Jenna Jump qualified for the NYS Bowling Tournament.
• The Varsity Indoor Track team won the Quinney Invitational and IAC top score for the event.

During the ceremony, individual student-athletes were honored for their exceptional contributions, including outstanding performances, leadership qualities, and dedication to their respective teams. Additionally, coaches expressed gratitude to all participants for their commitment, perseverance, and positive attitude throughout the season.
